Barovian Nobility
The powerful bloodlines that have watched over Barovia since it's conquering over 700 years ago. Many generations of nobility have reigned over their respective households and none have forgotten their vow to Strahd von Zarovich the First.
The general that once led their ancestors into Barovia after 30 years of war. Likewise, Strahd von Zarovich the Tenth has not forgotten either and leads the barovian nobility with an iron fist, just as his ancestor would have done many, many years ago.
Reduces incoming damage by 4, if damage is reduced by 0, immediately use one Melee action.
Trained in the arts of war, one should expect tactical maneuvers such as these.

Melee.
Sometimes it's best to shoot the danger before it gets too close to the Boyar or Boyarina you're protecting.
Also gives a feeling of safety to have that crossbow with you.

The Guardsman interposes the first attack that would hit an allied creature adjacent to it until the start of it's next turn.

Move 6, Melee. Reach 2.
A regular guardsman, found in most noble households of Barovia. These are guards trained with the rudimentary task to protect their respective Boyar or Boyarina.
Attacks made against units other than the Guard Captain are done so with disadvantage.
If their Boyar or Boyarina is also in combat, all their attacks are made with advantage.

The Guard Captains are trusted members of a nobilities household. Their duty is to keep the guards in check and organize the protection of either the nobles property or their lavish mansions.
You're better off bribing a guardsman than trying your luck with a Captain.

Choose another creature allied to you. It immediately can use one of it's actions.

Move 3 and attack with a Rapier.
Heirs of the noble bloodlines of warriors, scouts and assassins that once served under Strahd von Zarovich the First during his 30 year war. They were given Land and Title as reward for their loyal services. While the war is 700 years in the past, most families have held true to some of their warrior traditions.
