Never bring a gun to a tank fight.
Battlefield Mechanics specialize in deployable firepower, armored hardpoints, sentry rigs, and tactical control. They trade drone mobility for stronger fixed positions, turning doorways, alleys, vehicles, and ruined walls into miniature kill zones.
Level 3
Field Turret.
When you Deploy Drone, you may deploy a Field Turret instead. A Field Turret counts as 2 drones against your active drone maximum. It has 1 HP, cannot move, and disappears when destroyed like a drone. When you Command Drones, each active Field Turret chooses one mode:
- Assault Mode. Make a turret attack: Range 10, 2d8 Piercing. It has no damage bonus and does not crit.
- Suppress Mode. Make a turret attack: Range 10, 1d8 Piercing. On hit, the target’s next attack before the start of your next turn has disadvantage.
- Support Mode. Choose one willing creature or drone within Range 10 of the turret. Its next attack before the start of your next turn has advantage.
Level 7
Damage Shunt.
1/round, when your Field Turret would be destroyed by damage, you may take the triggering damage, ignoring Armor. If you do, the turret takes no damage. You may use this as a free Reaction.
Level 11
Dual Output.
When you Command Drones, choose one Field Turret. It uses 2 different modes instead of 1. If it uses both Assault Mode and Suppress Mode, it makes both attacks. These attacks do not count as Rushed Attacks. The turret cannot choose the same mode twice.
Level 15
Factory Floor.
When you Command Drones, each of your Field Turrets uses 2 different modes instead of 1. If a turret uses both Assault Mode and Suppress Mode, it makes both attacks. These attacks do not count as Rushed Attacks. A turret cannot choose the same mode twice.
